Every work day, in the early morning hours, a group of people from Buddha Garden, Auroville and beyond, come to work together to grow food. This book describes how we do it. How our daily practice has evolved and is evolving, to meet with the challenges of growing food that will sustain both us and the Earth.
Our approach to growing food in Buddha Garden is not a ‘farming method’ based on a set of techniques. It is better described as a ‘farming practice’ which is based on a particular kind of engagement with the Earth and the Earth’s natural cycles. We aim to grow food in a way that protects and supports the natural processes that sustain our food growing.
