Wednesday October 11th sunny and warm

With a student group of 15 and 10 other volunteers:

  1. We spent all our time working in the wild garden which is a place where we grow things that do not need too much attention. Things like self-seeding rosella and tapioca.  It was very wild indeed and it took some time to take out all the weeds.  Then we rebuilt the beds and composted and mulched two of them.  We then planted one of those with pumpkin.
  2. We cut some seed pods from some wild brinjal that had been growing there. We will then mix these wild plants with domestic plants so that they create a hybrid brinjal (aubergine) that is very tough ( like the wild brinjal) but produces large binjal (like the domesticated brinjal).
